Design-wise it is a combination of Bose Frames and Snapchat Spectacles. Jio Glass looks much similar to that. However, unlike Spectacles which has two cameras near to the two eyes, it has a camera in the center. Additionally, It’s two smart glasses have built-in speakers and batteries. This product looked comfy and it only weighs 75 grams. It supports HD quality content in terms of audio and video. It supports all regular audio formats.
“Jio Glass is at the cutting edge of technology that provides best-in-class Mixed Reality services to give users a truly meaningful immersive experience,”
– Kiran Thomas, President, Reliance Industries Limited.
In the demo, President RIL Kiran Thomas said, “Hi Jio, please call Aakash and Isha,” after which Jio Glass made an appeal to Aakash and Isha Ambani. Aakash was seen as a 3D avatar while Isha used a 2D video call interface to join in. It was seen during the call how these glasses would make the meetings quick and engaging to conduct.
Here’s a video below of the official Jio event conducted on July 15th, conveying all the information for the product in detail.😎
Jio Glass tends to be Excellent with voice commands. Although the company did not specifically state it at the demo, Thomas was able to call Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani simply by asking Jio, which is probably a wake-up call for the virtual assistant Jio Glass to do so. The mixed reality headset comes with 25 mixed reality applications that are compatible across genres such as entertainment, learning, gaming, and productivity. At the AGM, Jio did not unveil pricing and availability plans for smart glasses.
